Meet the dental team at Illume
Tim Rumney | Clinical Director

Tim combines roles: he’s a dentist as well as the practice owner, so he focuses not just on providing clients with high quality cosmetic and restorative dentistry, but also on developing the vision to see the practice constantly evolve and improve.
This is work for more than just one, though, and he’s proud to work with a great team of people. In his spare time, Tim plays sax in a big band and is building an eccentric 3-wheel kit car for fun.
Alison Rumney | Non-clinical Director
BA (Hons) Exeter PGCE
Alison’s main responsibility is to empower, motivate and develop the team, so making sure we provide the best possible customer service to all our clients. Her main passion is cooking, although she also enjoys travelling, practising her French and Italian, reading and listening to her husband and sons make music.
Clare Pollard | Practice Co-ordinator and Registered Dental Nurse

Clare's been with us since 2008. She is a qualified nurse and her clinical skills together with excellent managerial and administrative skills give her a great understanding of the whole practice and business. She is the person who keeps Illume running efficiently on a daily basis. She really enjoys her challenging and varied role at Illume. When not at work, Clare spends her time travelling and has a busy social life involving eating and drinking with her family and friends.
Simon Gumbley | Associate Dentist

Simon qualified in 1985 and worked as a Senior House Officer and Registrar in hospital before working in general practice. He is a general dentist with a special interest in restorative and endodontic dentistry, and he places and restores implants. He is also a certified provider of the Inman aligner™, meaning he can straighten teeth.
When not at work, Simon enjoys mountain walking and is a keen vegetable grower with an allotment. He is also an enthusiastic water polo player and a qualified referee.
Cliff Nissen | Associate Dentist

Cliff has considerable experience in the field of implant dentistry. After graduating he worked in various university dental departments and lectured in Periodontology for six years at the University of Dundee. He ran his own private practice in Germany whilst at the same time providing implant services to a number of private practices in the area, something he now provides to practices in the South West of England.
Cliff is also a mentor for the Association of Dental Implantology and the International Team for Implantology. His areas of special interest include bone and soft tissue regeneration, sinus augmentation and treatment of aesthetic implant cases.
Agnes Gradon | Dental Hygienist

Agnes is a member of the BDHA and qualified in 1987. She relishes the sheer variety of clients we see, all of whom benefit from her gentle approach. Despite her wealth of clinical experience, Agnes approaches every client as an individual with feelings, not just a mouth to treat. She loves cooking and gardening.
Leanne Hobbs| Dental Hygienist

Leanne joined us several years ago as a trainee dental nurse and after becoming a qualified dental nurse left to study for a diploma in Hygiene in Cardiff. We are delighted that she has now rejoined our team of hygienists. Leanne's gentle approach has won over many clients. In her spare time she likes zumba, walking the dog and travelling.
Carley Warren | Registered Dental Nurse and Clinical Co-ordinator

Carley’s has been nursing since 2000 and has been at Illume since 2006 and is a qualified patient care co-ordinator, which means she can give Oral Hygiene instruction as well as discuss in-depth treatment plans with clients. She loves the interaction with such a wide variety of clients and relishes the fun she has at work. Carley also enjoys Pilates, keeping fit and shopping.
Jean Pinero| Registered Dental Nurse

Jean has been nursing since 2002. She has a caring professional manner and loves the rapport she has with Illume’s clients. She assists both our hygienists and dentists. Jean loves all kinds of music and dancing and going shopping with her friends.
Catherine Jones | Client Co-ordinator
Catherine joined our front desk team in June 2011 and brings with her a wealth of knowledge in delivering fantastic customer service. She is always prepared to go the extra mile to make our clients happy. In her spare time she enjoys fine wine and good food followed by a long dog walk to burn off all the calories!
Alice Titcomb | Registered Dental Nurse

Alice joined the Illume team in August 2012. She is a hard working and enthusiastic addition to our team. When she's not at work she enjoys watching films on the big screen and seeing friends.
Cassie Wood | Trainee Dental Nurse
Cassie joined us in May 2016 as a trainee nurse. She will begin her formal training in September. She’s a very keen horsewoman and when she’s not at work she loves eventing and team chasing.
She enjoys spending time trying to train her young Springer Spaniel, Dora. She also likes skiing. She is a great fit at Illume as, along with many of our team, she loves baking cakes.
