Love your oral health this Valentine’s Day

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, a Cheltenham-based dentist who has been Creating Kissability since 1987 says now is the perfect time to take a look at your oral health.

It doesn't matter how expensive your bouquet is or how posh the restaurant is, if you haven't got clean teeth then the chances are that your date won't be impressed.

Illume practice owner and clinical director Tim Rumney says: “Valentine’s Day is when we like to remind our loved ones how we feel about them but no-one wants to get close to someone who has bad breath or stained teeth so I would urge everyone to love their own oral health and follow these simple tips:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste
  • Use interdental brushes or dental floss to clean between your teeth every day
  • Cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks
  • Stop smoking and reduce alcohol intake
  • Visit your dentist as often as they recommend

“If you follow this advice then you too should be ready to pucker up and enjoy Valentine’s Day with the special person in your life,” Tim added.

For anyone who has concerns about their teeth being crooked or stained then Illume can offer a range of treatments to help ‘Light Up Your Smile’ including orthodontics, tooth whitening and treatment with an air polisher, which removes stains on teeth.
