With latest figures from the British Dental Association showing that only half of NHS practices in England are accepting new patients, Illume wishes to remind anyone in need of dental care that the long-standing private practice in Cheltenham is, as always, welcoming new clients.
The analysis of 2,500 dental practices on the NHS Choices website also found that 21 million adults haven’t seen an NHS dentist in the last two years and 5 million children haven’t seen an NHS dentist in the last year.

“The number of tooth extractions on children aged four and under in English hospitals has risen by almost a quarter over the past decade according to NHS data obtained by the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons.
“This data showed that there were 9,206 extractions within the age group in 2015-16 compared with 7,444 in 2006-07 which is an alarming 24% rise.
“That’s why we recommend children have regular Healthy Mouth Reviews as no-one wants to lose their teeth at such a young age, or indeed, at any age.
